Management Orthopedic Patient With Covid 19, A Picture Of Patient Safety

This study will describe management policies to maintain hospital services by putting safety and analyze epidemiological data on orthopedic patient with covid-19 infection who were admitted during pandemic. A retrospective descriptive of patients profile 1st wave Pandemic (January - March 2021). Modification staff work flow also made, based risk transmissions, this include rescheduling elective surgery promoting telemedicine. For for urgent surgery, transition room made screening before operation, there a negative pressure operation need an emergency operation. There 38 room, 18 (47.36%) confirmed infection. are slight fewer female Covid-19, compare the male 8 (44.4%) vs 10 (55.6%) patient. The Patient’s age ranged from 5 79 years old, average 46.27 old (SD 20.63). With most 56-65 old. patients’ diagnosis demographics described in table 1. Five (27.8 %) mild covid-19, nine (50 moderate four (22.2 severe covid-19. Among seven (38.9%) had hypertension three patients(16.7%) diabetes . Laboratory shows 13 (72.7%) abnormal NLR all increased D Dimer. Average length stay 12.78 days, Range 2 days 21 days; SD 5,53) eleven (61.1%) underwent procedure 7 conservative treatment. was 1 (1.8%0 death case recorded, among COVID-19, C3 Spinal Cord Injury tetraplegia respiratory failure. During period 16 (2.5% 636 staff) diagnosed them 60% red area ( Emergency unit, polyclinics, isolation laboratory). no documented procedure. Covid-19 disrupted many aspects services. Our Hospital develop new strategies minimize transmission Preoperative screening, proper personal protective equipment’s, strict transmissions control successfully our hospital. Orthopedics infection, that require room. Prompt treatment according WHO Guideline given.
